A stay at Ritz Paris is easiest to plan when you treat the room, restaurants and bars as separate decisions. The address at 15 place Vendôme gives you a central Right Bank base, but it does not automatically secure a dinner reservation or a seat at Bar Hemingway. Choosing the right room and leaving time for the hotel will make a bigger difference than filling every hour with sightseeing.

This researched guide uses the hotel's published information checked in November 2026. It focuses on room space, dining arrangements and the pool, without claiming a personal stay. For a wider shortlist, compare the Ritz with four other properties in our Paris luxury hotel guide.

Superior or Grand Deluxe: decide what the extra space buys

The Superior Room is listed at 35 square metres. The published amenities include a king-size bed or twins on request, while breakfast is described as optional. This category is a useful starting point for a couple planning to spend most of each day exploring Paris. Before comparing upgrades, establish whether the bed arrangement, outlook and bathroom suit your needs.

The Grand Deluxe Room is listed at 55 square metres and described with a living area, shower and bath. That additional space may matter if you expect to read, work or spend a quiet evening in the room. Do not interpret the hotel describing a room as feeling like a suite as confirmation of a separate, closable bedroom. Ask for the layout if separation is important.

There is no need to purchase space you will not use. On a short, busy visit, you might prefer the smaller room and an extra night in Paris. On a longer stay with slow mornings, a sitting area may be one of the most useful upgrades. Compare the actual categories available for your dates, not photographs of the hotel's most exceptional suites.

Clarify early arrival and the rate conditions

The room information says check-in and check-out can be flexible on request at booking. For an overnight flight from the US, explain when you expect to reach the hotel and obtain confirmation of what is possible. A noted preference is not the same as a guaranteed room ready at dawn. Make a workable first-morning plan if access cannot be confirmed.

Check the cancellation terms attached to your rate and dates. The hotel publishes different deadlines for certain peak periods, so a general assumption that all bookings have the same flexibility is unsafe. Save your confirmation and use the deadline expressed in local Paris time. Also establish which charges are included in the quoted total and which are paid separately.

If travelling with children or with another adult, settle occupancy before selecting a room on size alone. Ask about the precise bed arrangement and any connecting-room requirement. A room with a generous sitting area is not automatically approved for an extra overnight guest. These questions are simpler to resolve before payment than after arrival.

Leave time for the Ritz Club and Spa

The Ritz Club and Spa information lists an indoor pool, sauna and steam room. Pool hours are published as 7 am to 10 pm. The fitness centre has around-the-clock access for hotel residents, a separate arrangement from the pool's opening hours.

That distinction matters if you are planning around jet lag. A very early gym session and a very early swim are not interchangeable. Reconfirm current opening arrangements for your stay and ask about any age-specific rules if you are travelling as a family.

For a hotel-focused break, reserve a genuinely free interval rather than squeezing wellness time between a timed museum entry and dinner. Swimming, a treatment and an hour of rest are different ways to spend the afternoon; choosing one can be more enjoyable than attempting all three. Ask about treatment reservations separately from general access to the facilities.

Book Espadon around its operating days

Espadon lists regular dinner service from Tuesday to Saturday, from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm. Chef Eugénie Béziat's restaurant offers seasonal menus and a setting that opens towards the Grand Jardin. For a celebratory stay, check the dining availability before making a non-refundable room reservation.

A restaurant reservation has its own conditions. Read those terms even when you are staying in the hotel, and communicate dietary requirements when arranging the table. Special holiday dinners can have different hours, menus and cancellation arrangements from normal service. Use the page for your actual date rather than assuming the regular timetable applies.

Try to avoid scheduling your most important dinner on the evening you land. A delayed flight, a longer transfer or simple tiredness can make a carefully chosen meal feel like an obligation. Give it an evening when you can return to the room, change comfortably and arrive without rushing.

Bar Hemingway and Salon Proust are different experiences

Bar Hemingway currently lists daily evening service from 5 pm to midnight without reservations. The hotel's description specifies 25 seats. That small capacity is a reason to keep the evening flexible; it is not a place to promise your party an exact seating time based solely on being a hotel guest.

The bar's page also specifies a smart dress code and excludes pets. Read the current rules before arriving, particularly if you plan to come directly from a full day of sightseeing. Choose another arrangement for any evening when waiting would put a theatre reservation or dinner at risk.

Salon Proust offers a tea-time experience and lists afternoon service from 1 pm to 7 pm. It is a different way to spend time at the Ritz, especially if an unhurried daytime visit appeals more than cocktails. Check the current offering and reservation arrangements directly. Neither a tea nor a drink requires reorganising your entire Paris trip around a hotel stay.

Build a Paris itinerary that leaves room for the hotel

For a first visit, combine the Ritz with a focused Louvre visit and a separate afternoon at Palais Garnier. Keep the days geographically sensible, and use our three-day Paris itinerary as a framework rather than a checklist.

Before finalising the booking, ask yourself which part of the Ritz you most want to enjoy. If the answer is the room, protect a slow morning. If it is the pool, leave an afternoon free. If it is a particular meal, secure the table. A famous address becomes a satisfying stay when the arrangements match the experience you actually want.
